Large natural seaweed and willow basket, living room blanket basket

This large-capacity storage basket features a primary framework constructed from wicker, with seagrass and water hyacinth stems used as the filling and wrapping materials. After being steamed and softened, the wicker is bent to form a rectangular base frame and vertical side supports; artisans then weave horizontal bands of water hyacinth strips around the frame, interlacing rows of twisted seagrass cords every few rounds to create a decorative striped pattern. The handles are formed by two thick wicker rods threaded through the sides of the basket and securely fastened. The basket retains its natural coloring and is left unvarnished. It is perfect for placement in a living room corner to store blankets, cushions, and throw pillows; in a walk-in closet or entryway to organize scarves and hats; or it can serve as a decorative outer basket for a pet bed. The bottom of each box is lined with a layer of linen fabric to prevent small items from slipping through.
