Large seaweed basket, handmade blanket and toy storage

This product is a large, woven seagrass basket that remains undyed, preserving the natural golden-brown hue of the seagrass. The basket features a deep, cylindrical profile that flares slightly outward toward the top, finished with a thickened, rolled rim. The weaving employs a dense “one-over-one, double-twist” technique, resulting in a tight, compact texture. During the manual crafting process, artisans begin weaving from a circular base and periodically use a wooden mallet to tamp down the rows, ensuring the basket body is exceptionally dense and sturdy. It is ideal for use in a living room corner to store seasonal blankets, children’s toys, or throw pillows; alternatively, it can be placed at the foot of a bed to hold spare sheets and duvet covers, or utilized as a laundry hamper. Thanks to the inherent resilience of seagrass, the basket retains its shape even when filled with heavy items. A circular felt pad is sewn onto the base to prevent scratching or wear on floor surfaces.
