This “belly-shaped” basket is woven from natural seagrass and subsequently dyed black. The seagrass is first twisted into rope, and the weaving begins at the base using a spherical coiling method that causes the midsection to bulge while the opening narrows. The black color is achieved through immersion in plant-based dyes, ensuring good colorfastness. The small size is lightweight and easy to handle.
